WonderPlay Studio Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 29, 2026

WonderPlay Studio is operated by Christine Johnson. This policy explains how information is handled when families use our learning app and website. Contact us at support@wondersplaystudio.com with privacy questions or requests.

Children and parent accounts

WonderPlay offers activities for children up to age 10, with parent or guardian guidance. No sign-in is offered in this free testing version. Avoid sending children’s personal information to support.

Information we use

Earlier parent accounts. The current testing interface does not offer account creation or sign-in. If you previously created an account or signed in, their email address and password are sent to Google Firebase Authentication. Firebase processes account credentials, an account identifier, and technical information such as IP addresses to provide and protect sign-in services. We use account information to manage parent access. We do not ask parents to send passwords to our support email.

Activity progress and preferences. The app saves learning scores, stars, activity unlocks, and selected settings on the device or in the browser's local storage. This activity progress is not synchronized to a parent account. Android system backup or device transfer may copy app data depending on your device settings. Unfinished drawings are kept temporarily in memory and can be lost when the app closes; export drawings you want to keep. Clearing app or browser data, or uninstalling the app, may remove it.

Support messages. If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever information you include. We use it to answer questions and resolve problems.

Services and network connections

Some animal sounds are requested from Wikimedia servers. When those sounds play, the provider receives connection information such as the device's IP address. Other sounds are packaged with the app.

Spoken letters, numbers, and words use device or browser speech services. Depending on the voice and device settings, these services may contact their provider to generate speech. This feature reads activity text; it does not require children to record their voice.

The website uses Google Fonts and a hosting provider. These services may receive connection information when a webpage or font loads. The prepared mobile app includes its fonts locally. Information handled by third-party services is also subject to their own policies, including Firebase's privacy information, Google's Privacy Policy, and the Wikimedia Privacy Policy.

Advertising and payments

Android version 1.0.10 includes the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) and displays sample advertisements during testing. These test ads do not generate advertising revenue. The website and iOS version do not use this AdMob integration. Activities remain free during testing and the current testing interface does not accept payments.

The Android integration requests child-directed, non-personalized ads with a maximum ad content rating of G. It does not request the Android advertising ID permission. Non-personalized ads still involve technical data processing: Google documents collection and sharing of IP addresses (which can indicate approximate location), app and ad interactions, diagnostic data, and device or account identifiers. Removing the advertising ID permission does not remove all other identifiers. Google uses SDK data for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention and encrypts its transmission using TLS. See Google’s Mobile Ads data disclosure and Google’s Privacy Policy.

Banners are requested on the Android home hub after the welcome screen is dismissed; they are hidden during activities and dialogs. We do not configure personalized advertising. Live advertising is not enabled in version 1.0.10. A later release may use this integration to support free activities after the required setup and review.

Retention and deletion

We retain parent account information until the parent requests account deletion. To request deletion of a parent account and its associated information, email support@wondersplaystudio.com from the account's email address with the subject “Delete WonderPlay account.” We may verify ownership before processing the request. Do not include your password.

Contact us to request deletion of support correspondence. Local progress and preferences remain on the device until cleared. Deleting a parent account does not automatically erase local app data; you can clear that data through your device or browser settings. Service providers may retain limited technical records according to their own retention policies.

Parents' choices

Parents may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information we hold about them or their child. If you believe a child has supplied personal information without a parent's involvement, contact us so we can investigate and remove it as appropriate.

Security and changes

We use Firebase Authentication to handle account sign-in. No system can guarantee absolute security. We will update the date on this page when this policy changes and provide additional notice when appropriate for a material change.

Invited adult testing

Only after an invited adult explicitly starts testing, the app sends their invitation name, app-specific tester ID, visible visit open/leave times and duration, and feedback they choose to submit to Purple Daisy Creation’s private workspace. Testing stops when they end testing or their invitation expires. Connection loss records the last received signal, not a confirmed close. Child profiles, progress, drawings and learning results are excluded. Feedback files remain private; do not upload child information. Contact support for correction or deletion.
